It is 1960 when Deborah gets pregnant after an awkward sexual experience with an older boyfriend. She finds a doctor to perform an illegal abortion. Three months later, she finds out the procedure did not go as planned. Deborah makes an agonizing choice, amidst a chorus of other people’s opinions on what to do.
It turns out, when I had the abortion, I was pregnant with twins. Now I’m finding out that one of them survived.

This is Episode 12, Season 3 of The TMI Project Story Hour: Stories for Choice featuring Deborah Gordon-Brown. Deborah Gordon-Brown is a resident of Marbletown, NY. She was an actress for over 30 years, appearing in stage productions across the country as well as on television. After retiring from acting, Deborah became a theatre manager, then a psychotherapist, or as she likes to describe it, “More theatre.” These days, you can find Deborah reading, painting, and volunteering for organizations in Ulster County. She first worked with TMI Project in 2018.
