Morris: The Mind of Someone Like Me

New episode of The TMI Project Story Hour airs today, featuring storyteller Morris Bassik. In his story, Morris shares a heartfelt letter to his late grandmother, Gigi, and speaks out about the stigma surrounding schizophrenia.

Morris has learned how to navigate a life filled with challenges by finding solace in his many hobbies, from watercolor painting to working out mathematical equations.

When TMI Project offered a storytelling workshop through the Mental Health Association of Ulster County, he was hesitant to join. But when Morris decided to overcome his fear of public speaking and give it a try, he transformed into a powerful storyteller.
Learn more about Morris and the other participants of the workshop with MHA in our docu-short, Vicarious Resilience, available to stream free online at https://tmiproject.org/vicariousresilience/.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we are participating with the launch of The TMI Project Story Hour Season 7, Vicarious Resilience: Storytelling for Mental Health.

Vicarious Resilience highlights the brave souls who stepped on stage and shared the truth about their lived experience to raise awareness and break the stigma around mental illness.
